WIPO Broadcasting treaty

In spite of the concerns of the majority of WIPO member states, the troublesome webcasting and anti-circumvention clauses remain in the draft WIPO broadcasting treaty. IP Justice have a very clear list of ten reasons why the treaty, as currently drafted, is a bad idea. You really have to admit that IP lobbyists are very good at their job - even when their position is demonstrably irrational they still seem to have the power to hypnotise policymakers.

Robin Gross from IP Justice is attending the latest round of discussions on the treaty at WIPO this week. Early developments in the discussions, according to Cory, are not looking promising.
